Sclareol

Description

Sclareol is an aromatic compound found in clary sage (Salvia sclarea), and its name comes from this. It is classified as a bicyclic diterpene alcohol. It is an amber solid with a sweet, fragrant smell. Sclareol is used as a fragrance in cosmetics and perfumes, and as a seasoning in food.
